2017 ROCK Program

The ROCK (Rockies Outdoor Climbing Knowledge) program is designed for people who know a little about climbing and would like to participate in RMS section climbing trips. The program covers the skills that you need to be a proficient second on an ACC multi-pitch traditional climbing trip. Traditional (or “trad”) climbing means that the leader is placing protection, rather than relying on fixed protection such as pitons or bolts. We will include:

-          what to expect on an ACC climbing trip (including the ever present waiver!)

Fewer people have skied in Antarctica then stood on top of Everest, but we are lucky enough to have  Sandy Walker to take us on a bottom of the world ski tour.  Sandy will be doing a slideshow presentation about "Ski Touring the Antarctic: Mind Officially Blown" on Wednesday, January 18th, 7:00pm @ the Canmore Legion.  Come hear about skiing at the bottom of the world alongside icebergs, penguin, seals, and whales. Admission is free for everyone and the booze is cheap! Mark your calendars and hope to see you there!
