Our RMS Ice Leadership course is next weekend (Dec 8-9), and there are still 2 spots available! Just $120 for two full days of instruction from ACMG Mountain Guide, Jeff Bullock. This course is the perfect start to become a Section leader for ice climbing trips! See the Courses section of this site or email for more details.

The next Rocky Mountain Section social will be on Thursday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Canmore Legion. We will be having free pizza, followed by a very short annual general meeting and then a screening of one of Hans Gmoser's ski films. That night we will be showing "Rendezvous in the Selkirks", Hans' last (and some people suggest, best) film. Chic Scott will be on hand to introduce the show. At the time that they were produced, Hans travelled across all of North America showing his films to huge audiences, and their appeal has not diminished over the years.

Our 2018 Photo Contest is OPEN! Attention Rocky Mountain Section Members, entries are now being accepted for our 2018 photo contest. Check out our photo contest link HERE for details and contest rules. The deadline for submissions is December 31. Winners will be announced at our January Social in early 2019!

And if you haven't already, take a look at the rest of our offerings - courses are filling up fast!

Two new courses aimed at our Section Trip Leaders have just been posted: a new, 2-day RMS Ice Leadership program (Dec 8-9), and our 3-day RMS Ski Leadership course (Jan 18-20).

These will both be run by IFMGA/ACMG Mountain Guide, Jeff Bullock, and are field-based courses focused specifically on developing critical skills and decision-making on real-life objectives.  Participants in both of these programs will get plenty of opportunity to take the lead and practice their evaluation of the conditions and terrain!

All of courses are taught by certified ACMG guides - starting from just 20 bucks!

Our website will be undergoing maintenance this weekend as we move to a new server.  If you are unable to access the site over the weekend, please wait a couple of hours and try again.  The site should be up and running again by the end of the weekend.

Our Avalanche Skills Training 1, Dec 1-2, is open for registration.

More great courses are on their way soon!
