Narao Shoulder: 18 February 2018

This is an easy, friendly paced tour up to treeline at Narao Shoulder, the gladed north-west aspect below Narao Peak.

It is about a 4 km tour with 570 m elevation gain to reach treeline, starting from the Lake O'Hara parking lot (about 10 km west of Lake Louise).

As conditions allow, we can break above treeline for some scenery, then ski the glades (30-40 degree slopes), lapping them as often as we wish.

Calgary folk can meet at the West Valley carpool parking lot (SW of Hwy 1 & Stoney Trail, just east of Victory Church) at 7am, and then we can meet up with Canmore folk at Beamers Coffee Shop on Hwy 1A at 8:30 am.

The usual gear is required:  touring skis or split board, skins, poles, avalanche beacon (3 antennae), probe and shovel, warm clothing, lunch and water to drink.
